Lance Taylor

What was a lifelong dream turned into a low-paying, midday gig…

Lance Taylor’s story begins back in the early 90s when his Jeep Wrangler was stolen, only to be found later with Scarface and Ghetto Boys tapes in the cassette player. From then on, LT knew his destiny rested in a world of hip-hop and sports.

After a tremendous 6-year reign over the streets of Tuscaloosa, LT packed up his gear and moved west with the hopes of winning instant fame and fortune as an actor. He moved back to Birmingham 8 months later.

Lance Taylor began his radio career lurking on the basement floor selling advertisement for a mouse. However, it was not long before his cubicle conversations were noticed by Citadel management as pure genius, and he was thrust onto the air as a sports expert. Feeling the pressure, LT then realized it would be a good idea to actually do some prep work.

Even through all his radio success, Lance’s career aspirations continue to be to win the Florida Lottery and to never work again.

The Rockstar

The Roundtable is very excited to announce the addition of one of Birmingham’s greatest talents, Sean “The Rockstar” Heninger. You may remember him as the producer of the Dixon & Willoughby morning program. Over the years, Rockstar has made many contributions to the WJOX family, and most recently with his smash hits, “We Didn’t Start the Firing” and the timeless ode to Anna Nicole Smith, "Valium and Colodopins". You can catch him performing weekly at several of Birmingham's best establishments. Rockstar will be the man behind the board making sure Ian and LT sound good.

Jim Dunaway

Serving as the "point guard" on The Roundtable, Jim Dunaway spends the midday setting "the table" for LT and Brownie.

Dunaway is a 22 year television veteran who anchors weekday sports on the CBS affiliate in Birmingham and has hosted the Football Coaches Show at The University of Alabama for 5 seasons (1 with Dennis Franchione, 2 with Mike Shula, and the last two with Nick Saban) He started his sports radio career with Rick and Bubba in 1998 and started The Dunaway and Brown Show with Ryan Brown in 2005. That show merged with The Roundtable in January, 2010.

Jim is the guy who wants to talk sports 24/7, which makes LT the perfect teammate. The two are sometimes antagonistic, sometimes indistinguishable.

When asked to describe his style, Jim says "He's Pollyanna mixed with smart alec who loves to laugh."

The Two-time TV Emmy Award winner has Zero wins in radio (maybe now with Rockstars Help)

All you need to know about Jim is that he loves the Bucs, Rays and College Football. He is horrible at predicting games (I mean really, really bad) and his first girlfriend was named Rebel (Need we say more)

Jim is happily married to Maggie with two kids and is a member of Asbury UMC. Loves sushi, chick flicks, and sitting on the beach. His secret goal is to one day be a U.S. Senator or the bass player for a "big hair" band in Panama City at Club La Vela.

Ryan Brown

Ryan Brown started with WJOX in 2001 after working as Sports Director with the Alabama Radio Network (not the one that does the Alabama football and basketball games). Originally working as a producer, Brown started his first show in 2005 “Dunaway and Brown” with Jim Dunaway. Brown and Dunaway merged with Lance Taylor in 2010 to form the New JOX Roundtable. For his work in radio, Ryan has twice been recognized as the Associated Press Alabama Sportscaster of the Year.

Brownie is a life-long fan of the Miami Dolphins in the NFL. In Major League Baseball, Brown grew up a Braves fan (1980’s bad Braves) but he hates bandwagon teams. When the Expos moved to Washington D.C., Brown chose to become a Nationals fan to avoid any bandwagons. Having grown up as a white dude in the 1980’s, Brown was slotted to the Boston Celtics but the whole bandwagon thing has since ruined that.

Ryan graduated from Saks High School in Anniston in 1994. He attended Jacksonville State until 200 and almost left with a degree. Ryan is married to his high school sweetheart, Jennifer (she wrote this part). They have one daughter and are members at Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Vestavia Hills.
